Our History

Global Tubing, recently acquired by Forum Energy Technologies, was formed in April 2007 to meet growing worldwide demand for coiled tubing products and related services. Today, Global Tubing is one of the leading coiled tubing providers with stocking and service locations around the world through multiple capacity and service expansions.

From the beginning to today, Global Tubing continues to combine advanced technology and unmatched service to create customer value second to none. Global Tubing’s mission is to be the leading global provider of coiled tubing and related services by:

Currently staffed with over 200 members, Global Tubing’s operations and manufacturing management personnel have an aggregate of over 350 years in coiled tubing manufacturing and service experience.

Our Corporate Team

President

Neal Lux

Neal has been leading Global Tubing since 2013 and is one of the company’s original founders. Prior to becoming President, Neal was responsible for a number of key initiatives. This included the development of SMARTaper, a patented product that is the industry’s leading solution for long, horizontal wells. Before joining Global Tubing, Neal held a number of senior commercial roles with other tubing manufacturers. He has nearly 20 years of experience and B.S. in Engineering from Purdue University.

Vice President – Sales & Marketing

Doug Wheeler

With over 30 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, Doug currently serves as our VP of Sales and Marketing and is one of the original founders of Global Tubing. Before joining Global, Doug received a degree in Geology at Bakersfield College and worked in the field as a Geophysical Operations Manager and in business development. Doug currently manages all salesmen and has been strategic in developing commercial partnerships with customers.

Vice President – Sales Operations

Alex Sheehan

Serving as VP of Sale Operations, Alex Sheehan manages all operations within our sales team and service centers. Alex joined Global after receiving a B.S. in Industrial Engineering at the University of Nebraska – Lincoln and working as a Field Engineer for a major service company. During his tenure at Global he has helped develop and execute service, product, and mill capacity projects.

Garry McClelland

The VP of Technology and Product Development, as well as one of the original founders, is Garry McClelland. Garry holds a B.S. in Metallurgy from the Colorado School of Mines and has accumulated over 20 years of experience in the coil tubing industry. He has been an integral part of our team in developing products and product lines as well as ensuring the quality and integrity of our products.
